Due to the snow days first semester will end on February 1st. This week (1/23-1/27) will follow our regular weekly schedule. Monday, 1/30 will be a regular seven period day. We’ll run 90 minute final exams on Tuesday, 1/31 and Wednesday 2/1. Thursday, 2/2 will be a regular 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 period day.

FRESHMAN: Do you need help with studies for Finals? Cookies and Cram will be held TOMORROW (Tuesday) from 2:30 – 4:00pm in the Commons. Link Leaders and National Honor Society members will be on hand to help study with tasty snacks.

Way to go Sammamish! With the help of the ‘Count your Blessings’ organization SHS helped over 40 families at Thanksgiving. We collected 882 pounds of food & $170 in cash. Each family got food and $15 in Safeway gift cards. Ms. Krause’s 4th period class won and will get cookies next week.

TYE (TiE Young Entrepreneur) Seattle, has an entrepreneurial program for high school students (Grade 9th to 12th). TYE focuses on fostering entrepreneurship in youth and helps them discover the rewards and challenges of becoming an entrepreneur. As part of the TYE educational program, students will also get an opportunity to participate in a Global level Business Plan Competition. The Blood Drive last Friday was a great success according to the Puget Sound Blood Bank staff. 5 gallons of blood were collected and over 40 people donated. Special thanks to our staff and students who donated and the many on the wait list we couldn’t fit into the schedule. Blood drive organizers included students James Au, Stewart Waliser, Melynda Nguyen, Rama Malik and others.

The Latino Peer Tutoring program meets this afternoon from 2:35-3:30 in the Career Center. Tutoring and homework help available in Spanish and English.

You are invited to participate in our Summer Opportunity Fair, today, during both lunches, in the cafeteria lobby. 17 different companies are attending. There will be many opportunities for the summer; so do not miss this one time per year event!

Congrats to our own Liz Kreek and Olivia Mulholland as they were named MVP and All-Tournament 1st and 2nd team respectively in the Girls State Water Polo Tournament. Our team won the championship too!

Congratulations to our AP Computer Science team beating all the other Bellevue schools in the “Hunt the Wampus” Programming Competition sponsored by Microsoft. They won TOP PRIZE of the best User Interfacing team.

City of Bellevue is accepting applications for the Summer Well Kept Program. There 10 opening positions for $8.91/hour, for students who show an interest in the natural resources.
